I developed these seat belt locks for more secure seating during spirited driving, autocross, track days, etc. Unlike some other cars, the standard seat belt in the Lotus Elise/Exige does not ratchet back when fully extended (a trick often used on other street cars for track days) so it is always loose when buckled. This lock solves that problem in the simplest way possible. 

The clamp is powder coated aluminum and enbles the lap belt to be adjusted as tight as desired. It only affects the lap portion and the shoulder strap is still free. It does not alter the function of the standard seat belty mechanism and may be left in place once installed. 

Very easy installation and the clamp is designed to not cause wear on the belt or buckle. I have driven thousands of miles over the last few years with the prototype for day drives, road trips, and track days and have not seen any wear on the orginal belt. 

Obviously not intended to replace a full harness setup for dedicated track cars, but a nice improvement on a street car to feel more secure in the seat. Once you get used to it you’ll miss it if removed!
